A majestic 90 not out from Nick Rigg, lead the 1s into the semi finals of the Premier Cup, at the expense of Ticknall on Sunday.

The Dons won the toss and bowled first, and it soon looked like a good decision as Matt Madeley (4-37) and Tom Williams (3-32) made inroads into a strong batting line up. A couple of late partnerships took the hosts score upto 229 all out with 5 balls left of the 50.

An early wicket brought Rigg to the crease and he immediatley set about the attack, putting anything loose away and running well. He couldn't find anyone to stay with him at the crease until Kiwi Rory Christophearson took the field. After a brief rain break, and a adjusted score to chase Rigg and Christophearson upped the rate, with the running a particular  feature. Rory (30 off 27 balls) departed with 20 to win, but Rigg remained 90 not out off 83 balls to see the Dons home.

The Dons will travel to Kimberly on 13 August in the semi final.
