The Dons retained the Jackson Cup on friday, after a 2 year absense, against Denby at A&B.

Under gloomy skies, Denby won the toss and elected to field. Their innings never really got going, in the face off some tight bowling from the Dons. The innings finished on 111-8 with James Rigg's 2-12 off 4 the pick.

With less than six an over needed, the Dons could afford to have a look, and they did initially, until Ben Ashdown decided to put the foot down, hitting three 6's in a 15 ball 32. The damage was done, with the rest of the batsman able to hit the singles, as the winning runs were hit with 2 overs to spare, 5 wickets down.

It was a clean sweep aswell in the individual awards, as Joe Ashdown collected Man of the Match and best bowling for the competition, and Matt Archer won the highest score for the competition.

The Jackson Cup was awarded to skipper Adam Finlay by the Mayor of Derby.
