Spondon Cricket Club was established in 1883 and moved from the original ground in Royal Hill Road to our new fantastic facilities in Locko Road, in 2006.

With some of the best views of any club in the county, we now benefit from two magnificent pitches, a purpose built two-storey pavilion and excellent training facilities.

This is the home to five senior teams. Our 1st XI having won the Derbyshire Premier League in 2007, the Jackson Cup in 2008 and 2010 and the Premier T20 in 2010 continue to ride high in this highly competitive league.

Our junior section is the envy of many a club with around 180+ boys and girls training every week and then playing at all levels from kwik cricket up to U17s. Many of our young players are also regular stars in the adult teams and perform well at district and county levels.

As well as achieving the accolade of an ECB Focus Club, we have Club Mark status and are regarded as one of the leading clubs in the county for developing girls' cricket. Our girls currently represent the club at kwik, U11 and U13 age groups as well as at district and county level.

Life at Spondon Cricket Club is more than just sport. Our spacious and relaxed pavilion, complete with well-stocked bar - is the venue for a wide range of social activities involving everyone of all ages.

Offering the best of both worlds to players and supporters alike.

We are a friendly club with great enthusiasm from our players and volunteers all year around. The club boast a large and loyal supporter base who follow the teams and make Spondon Cricket Club a great arena for cricket to be played.

Nestled on the outskirts of Spondon village with enviable views over the Derbyshire countryside, we are actually only a short distance from the city centre and easy to access by car or bus.

Spondon Cricket ClubCricket at Spondon CC starts at kwik cricket level and progresses through the junior age groups to senior cricket where we field five senior teams starting in the Derbyshire Premier League.

So, whether you enjoy playing, or relaxing with a picnic and a pint to watch an afternoon of cricket - Spondon Cricket Club is the place to be during the summer months.

New members are always welcome whether you see yourself as a player or supporter, the club is run by a well established group of volunteers who work tirelessly to ensure the club meets the needs of its players, its supporters and it role within our village community. The club has always been central to the village community and its large support has made it a special place to play cricket.

The club throughout the year holds a number of social events for its members to develop the community spirit throughout the club and has its own social committee. This committee welcomes ideas for events and activities from all its members regarding events you would like to see held at SCC.

The club have been a focus of the MCC "Taking the Field" project which outlines the history of the local clubs across England and Wales. Only three clubs were chosen to participate in 2011 and Spondon CC has helped the MCC compile a historical and developmental account of our club.
